The PH Presidential Council should pick a new PM-designate by consensus or refer the matter to gov’t MPs for a majority vote.
The PH Presidential Council can also throw out Mahathir and Bersatu by majority vote.

Mahathir’s modus operandi, given that he has very few MPs with him, has been to disorient, and sow confusion and chaos in other parties, both in the gov’t and the Opposition, through the politics of distraction.
Here, Education Minister Mazlee and Indian hate preacher Zakir Naik have been particularly useful to him.
As long as others are disunited, Mahathir feels safe to carry on as usual.
The longer the selection of the next Prime Minister is put off, the greater the risk that the gov’t would suddenly collapse and implode.
In that case, there’s no choice but for the Army to step in and restore a semblance of order and stability.
The PH Presidential Council should meet immediately and come to a consensus on a candidate to replace Mahathir on the grounds that he’s too old to continue heading the gov’t.
He may not wake up tomorrow morning. Even if he wakes up, he might starting losing his memories. There’s a risk of dementia or alzheimer’s, both incurable and degenerative conditions.
If there’s no consensus, the MPs on the gov’t side should vote by secret ballot for a candidate to be PM.
There should be at least two candidates.
If there are three candidates, or more, and no one gets 51 per cent, there should be a runoff between the top two candidates.
